Boise Bench Homes by Neighborhood

The Boise Bench is the heart of Boise--an area with a higher elevation set overlooking downtown Boise.  Mostly neighborhoods and parks, though with enough businesses lining the major roads and by the freeway that residents have whatever they need, as well as quick access to downtown Boise.  The Bench is between Federal Way, the interstate, and the connector, and is a fabulous place to live--beautiful, with the city at residents’ fingertips and lovely views of it and the foothills.

Boise Bench Homes

Boise Bench Homes by Neighborhoods

In the sprawling neighborhoods across the Bench, you can find just about any kind of house, from tiny starter homes to historic homes similar to those in the North End to enormous mansions on large lots to luxury condos close to downtown. With so much to choose from, anyone could find a house here in the ideal neighborhood for them--one surrounded by a buffer of other subdivisions or one close to services and stores. The whole area has the huge mature trees that have earned Boise its name--the City of Trees.

Boise Train Depot

The Bench contains quite a few of the attractions that all of Boise loves. The historic Boise Depot is one of the most popular outdoor places to take pictures, with the picturesque train tracks and gardens. The lovely landscaping in Kathryn Albertson Park is the other most popular spot for photo shoots, while Ann Morrison Park is more for those who love to play outside, with playfields, playgrounds, and space for all kinds of outdoor community events.

Access To Amenities

Downtown Boise is just across the Boise River from the Bench, and has all kinds of shopping, entertainment, nightlife, services, and more. You can find bars, clubs, unique restaurants, historic and scenic buildings (including the lovely capitol building), medical specialists, movie theaters, and anything else under the sun. Popular attractions include the Knitting Factory, the Egyptian Theatre, the Boise Centre on the Grove, the Basque Block, and Hyde Park.

As with all of Boise, the Boise Bench is a great spot for lovers of the outdoors. Right on the boundary of the area is the Boise River and the Greenbelt, ideal for opportunities including rafting, fishing, swimming, and taking a scenic walk or bike ride. Just out of town, the foothills offer hundreds of miles of trails ideal for hikers, mountain bikers, and those who want to get out and explore. Also close to Boise are the Lucky Peak Reservoir, a popular boating and fishing spot, and the Bogus Basin Outdoor Recreation Area, a skiing location.

From the Boise Bench you can see downtown, the foothills, and all the lovely tree-lined neighborhoods around. With so many beautiful places in the Bench and immediately around it, who could resist the opportunity to live here?
