Idaho New Construction

Through our team of new construction specialists, you can have all the answers to your questions regarding your new home. If you've never had a home in Idaho built, you likely have a lot of concerns, as this will probably be the largest investment of your life. Jump start the process by informing yourself of some basic knowledge.

You can guess the new construction costs of your new home fairly accurately if you have a solid understanding of the size of the home you want to build. Meet with builders who construct houses that are similar to the features you want in both size and quality. Builders will likely tell you how much per square foot they generally charge for home construction. It doesn't hurt to ask what exactly is included in the price, and some builders may provide you with a list showing the materials they use. Also, you can expect some features to cost more than others. Bathrooms and kitchens tend to be the most expensive areas of the house. Things like the quality and size of windows you select can affect the cost. Vaulted ceilings and high roof pitches also add cost. So, as you consider new construction costs, there are many different things that affect the ultimate price tag.

New Construction in Idaho Tip

The cost per square foot is oftentimes higher in a smaller home versus a larger home. This is because when a builder constructs a larger home, the cost of things like the furnace or kitchen is spread over more square footage. As a result, a larger home may have a lower square footage cost than a smaller home. It can also cost less to build a double story home when compared to a single story simply because a double story will have a smaller roof and foundation. The plumbing and ventilation system are more compact in double level homes.

Remember that the finished new construction costs can often end up more than the original bid. Things like overspending the allowances, making changes and unforeseen problems can drive the finished price up.
